Ordained minister, college football coach, former educator, mentor, husband and father, Kenny is one of the most gifted people at helping others attain personal growth and cultural impact. With 25 years of experience as both an ordained minister and college football coach in the SEC, Big XII, AAC, Conference USA, and Sunbelt conferences, he has transformed individuals and student athletes to possess the best in them and to consistently live their best. His blended background of coaching and ministry, mixed with energetic thought provoking, transparent and motivating messages, inspire listeners to be transformed into world changers!
Kenny, also known as Coach K.I., grew up in the inner city of Memphis, TN. Faced with the challenges of growing up in the inner city, he was able to overcome adversity, loss, failure, lack and disappointment to become a successful husband, father, neighbor, and citizen. Kenny graduated from Whitehaven High School in Memphis. He attended Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, AR where he was a four year letterman and team captain in football. He graduated with a BA degree in Political Science.

He is on mission to help build self sustaining communities that are thriving and growing by building capacity in the next generation of students, educators, and coaches. To accomplish his mission, he created several resources to assist in this purpose. In 2017, he created a man hood curriculum in part of the Manhood mentoring program for the Auburn University Football program. This curriculum is the content curriculum for his "Interrupting Failure" mentoring program today. He created the C3 program to equip educators with proven athletic strategies to implement in the classroom for student achievement. In 2023, he created the Coach to Coach program to equip sports coaches how to make coaching a ministry. In 2020, he wrote the book, "Interrupting Failure" and in 2025 he revised and wrote the "Interrupting Failure workbook" to go along with it.
He is the founder and the owner of the Mentally Reborn Coaching LLC, where he is based in Orlando, FL.

As the head football coach in an inner city school district in Memphis, TN, Kenny noticed a large discrepancy in the cognitive achievement of student athletes' performance in the classroom versus on the playing field.
Several players with an I.E.P. (Individualized Education Program) background, who were struggling in the classroom setting, were demonstrating above-average cognitive skills on the playing field. He couldn't understand how the same populations of students could demonstrate different cognitive results in a sports setting versus a classroom setting. As a result, he did a personal observation of both settings.
He discovered that the difference between the two was the cultural structure of the sports setting that created an atmosphere for cognitive achievement. From his observation, he was fully convinced that everyone has the capacity to learn if the right mental doors are unlocked. It's his passion to help students have the same and better cognitive achievement that he has witnessed at-risk students have in his 20-year coaching career. With his passion for student achievement, he has developed a system series to enhance student achievement and the effectiveness of the educators and coaches who influence them.
